Group Chairman, Barnaby Swire, opened the annual Swire Women's Network event on 9th November, setting the scene for a candid and thought-provoking discussion under the theme, "Gender Balance – What does it mean for us?" Close to 100 executives from a range of Swire subsidiaries attended the forum, which was held at The Upper House in Hong Kong. Group staff and house staff from Swire Properties, Cathay Pacific and HAECO took part in a panel debate led by Mr Swire and Swire Pacific Finance Director, Michelle Low. Issues touched upon included gender representation at senior levels, cultural and industry-specific realities in different environments, and best-practice policies to support new parents. The forum was facilitated by Jo Hayes, Pipeline Initiatives Director of The Women's Foundation, who brought an external viewpoint and expertise to the debate.
