In January, Swire Coca-Cola announced the investment of RMB 2 billion in a major manufacturing base, R&D and distribution and sales centre in the Kunshan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiangsu. The new facility will represent the single largest strategic investment by Swire Coca-Cola in the Chinese Mainland market. The new plant will have a maximum annual output of 1.6 million tons, supported by some of the most advanced and highly automated production lines in the industry, and will also become an innovation centre for the development of new products and packaging.
