Board changes

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited

Ma Chongxian, currently Non-Executive Director of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, has been elected Deputy Chairman of the Board with effect from 3rd November 2022. Mr Ma, aged 57, has served as the Chairman and secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of China National Aviation Holding Corporation Limited, and the Chairman and secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Air China since September 2022. Song Zhiyong has resigned as Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited after eight years of service with the company.

Augustus Tang retired as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer from Cathay Pacific Airways Limited on 31st December 2022. He has been appointed Director Corporate Affairs of John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited with effect from 1st January 2023.

Ronald Lam has been appointed Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1st January 2023, succeeding Augustus Tang. He will continue to serve as Chair of HK Express.

Lavinia Lau has been appointed Chief Customer and Commercial Officer and also Executive Director on the Board of Cathay Pacific with effect from 1st January 2023.

Alex McGowan will be appointed Chief Operations and Service Delivery Officer and also Executive Director on the Board of Cathay Pacific with effect from 1st April 2023. He will succeed Greg Hughes, who will be retiring from the Swire Group after 36 years of service.
