A cross-departmental Cathay Pacific team from Airport, Engineering, Flight Operations, and Inflight Service Delivery have won a “Betsy” award for their efforts in safely delivering Summer, a six-year-old girl with cerebral palsy, to her new adoptive parents in Los Angeles. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, her new parents couldn't fly to Hong Kong to collect Summer, so she was escorted by a representative from the adoption agency via flight CX882. Going above and beyond, the team across the departments displayed tremendous compassion and care, carrying their bags, creating makeshift beds, and solving a harness issue.
