Leading global bulk shipping operator, Swire Bulk, has partnered with Cathay Pacific to launch SailGreener, a carbon offset programme that offers its customers the opportunity to offset the carbon footprint of their shipments by contributing to projects that have verified carbon reduction, as well as societal and developmental benefits.
The carbon credits are purchased in partnership with Cathay Pacific’s Fly Greener programme, which was recently extended to the airline’s air cargo services. Registered customers can now use the Cathay website to offset their shipments by air waybill number, with the carbon emissions calculator working out the emissions of each shipment and the cost to offset it in just a couple of simple steps. The initiatives are part of Swire’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
