Towards the end of November last year, over 12,000 music lovers gathered at Hong Kong's spectacular Central Harbourfront for the free, annual outdoor classical extravaganza, Swire Symphony Under The Stars, performed by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra's (HK Phil). Swire has been the HK Phil’s Principal Patron since 2006, and shares the orchestra's vision of spreading the joy of classical music beyond concert halls. Under the baton of the internationally acclaimed composer-conductor and Hong Kong’s Ambassador for Cultural Promotion, Tan Dun, the HK Phil delivered a vibrant, nature-inspired programme full of colour, character and imagination. The concert, which was live-streamed across a variety of online platforms, culminated in a rousing rendition of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.
