Swire Coca-Cola has invested over RMB 900 million (around US$140 million) to build a new plant in Zhengzhou, the capital of central China’s Henan Province. It is Swire Coca-Cola’s largest single investment in China to date. A ceremony was held on 8th October to lay the foundation stone at the new facility. Covering 124,000 square metres, it will go into operation within two years, with an annual production capacity of up to a million tonnes.
Over the next five years, Swire Coca-Cola will invest more than RMB 5.5 billion in factory infrastructure on the Chinese Mainland. There are also plans in the pipeline to expand around 20 production lines and to continue to invest in sustainable development projects through new products, carbon reduction and water-saving.
