Swire Symphony Under The Stars, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra’s hugely popular free outdoor concert at the Central Harbourfront, returned on 13th November, after a two-year absence. The 2021 event was a “hybrid” one, which was also livestreamed through the HK Phil website, official Facebook page and YouTube. Hong Kong-born conductor Wilson Ng led an evening of joyous dance music by Wagner, Saint-Saëns, Tchaikovsky, Piazzolla, Johann Strauss II, Anderson, Brahms and Khachaturian, and the musical extravaganza was compered by popular presenter, Harry Wong (Harry Gor Gor). As usual, the concert concluded with a spectacular fireworks display over Hong Kong Harbour.
