A scoop of kindness

US Cold’s warehouse in Covington, Tennessee, USA.
In early March, United States Cold Storage (US Cold) and its partners helped prevent over three tonnes of ice cream from going to waste. Due to a logistics issue, a huge shipment of the dessert could not be accepted by its original consignee, although it remained safe for human consumption. That’s when US Cold stepped in – together with the ice cream manufacturer and an NGO – so that not a drop would be sent to landfill. US Cold’s warehouse in Covington, Tennessee agreed to store the product temporarily, creating the time and space needed to finalise a donation solution. The NGO then ensured the ice cream was redirected to people in need, creating a positive impact on the community.
