Learning about accessibility from the community

Colleagues gained insights into everyday challenges faced by wheelchair users.

Swire Coca‑Cola HK recently held its first Social Inclusion Bootcamp in partnership with Wheel Power, an NGO in Hong Kong dedicated to promoting accessibility and social inclusion. The initiative forms part of the company’s broader commitment to community engagement and its sustainable development strategy, “Our Choice, Our Future!”

The one-day programme brought together colleagues to take part in a guided wheelchair user experience, learning directly from people with lived experience. Participants gained clearer insight into the practical and social barriers wheelchair users encounter in everyday settings. The bootcamp also encouraged colleagues to reflect on how daily interactions, attitudes and behaviours can shape more inclusive experiences – particularly for those who work closely with customers and the wider community.
