80 graduates complete Cathay I Can Fly Youth Academy

In July, Cathay celebrated the graduation of students who successfully completed the 2026 I Can Fly Youth Academy. Joined by Cathay Brand Ambassador and Olympic medallist Siobhán Haughey, the graduation ceremony drew graduates, industry partners and Cathay volunteers to honour the students’ achievements and inspire the next generation of aviation leaders.

Coinciding with Cathay’s 80th anniversary, this year’s programme brought together 80 students from Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland for the first time, guiding them on an immersive aviation journey across Hong Kong and Chengdu.

The two-week programme began in Chengdu where the students explored aviation development, technological advancements and the emerging low-altitude economy in the Chinese Mainland. It continued in Hong Kong, with visits to key operational facilities to gain hands-on industry insights, all while building friendships and broadening their horizons. The students were also introduced to diverse career paths across flight operations, cabin service and engineering, helping them see a place for themselves within the industry.

In August, a number of outstanding students visited Adelaide, Australia. The trip provided them with international exposure and opportunities to engage further with aviation professionals.
