In May, Argent Energy revealed it would be among the first companies in the Port of Amsterdam to access the site's Transition Fund, using it to help cut emissions and boost energy efficiency.

Argent Energy plans to establish a hot water circulation system that heats the tank terminal using residual energy. By replacing natural gas with residual heat, this upgrade is expected to cut site emissions by about 10%, saving more than 2,600 tonnes of CO₂ per year. The total investment amounts to approximately €1.9 million, of which €300,000 will be financed through the Transition Fund.

While Argent Energy already focuses on sustainable output, this upgrade initiative will enable the company to streamline its internal processes and reduce its dependence on fossil fuels. Construction is expected to begin in 2027.
