The Group's strategy will continue to create long-term shareholder value while embedding sustainable thinking into every business consideration. Doing so will build the resilience necessary to cope with escalating climate and nature risks as they develop. Another priority is to focus on material risks. For Swire Pacific and the Cathay group, this revolves around emissions and the increasing uptake of sustainable aviation fuel to help reduce them. Swire Properties and Swire Coca-Cola will also continue to collaborate with industry partners on decarbonising steel and concrete used in buildings, and ensure the sustainability of water usage, respectively.
One of the most important themes covered during the forum was health and safety. The Group's health and safety framework is now aligned with international standards, helping to drive continual improvement, particularly as operating companies expand into new markets that have distinct safety culture challenges.
The forum concluded with a shared sense that delivering SD 2050 will require leadership, collaboration and a continued commitment to integrating sustainability into all business decisions as well as actions taken by colleagues each day.
